  • Clear, color digital photo of the applicant’s face

Once your application is complete, the Missouri Department of Health typically takes up to 30 days for processing. Upon approval, you’ll be able to download your digital Missouri Medical Marijuana Card. 

You can renew your ID card no sooner than 60 days prior to, and no less than 30 days before its expiration date. The renewal process requires submitting the patient registry application form, a new Physician Written Certification, a photocopy of your government-issued ID, a clear digital photo of the applicant and payment of nonrefundable application fees.   • Anyone previously convicted of a nonviolent possession of marijuana charge in Missouri (3 pounds of less), who is not currently serving time I na Missouri jail or prison, will have their record reviewed and the possession conviction expunged

To become a designated caregiver, applicants must complete the designated caregiver application with the state of Missouri. The application process requires the same documents as the patient ID card.

This card is necessary for parents or legal guardians to purchase medical marijuana for minors, as patients under 18 cannot directly buy from dispensaries. Only legal guardians or parents of a licensed minor may serve as their licensed caregiver.

Caregivers can serve up to 6 patients. Conversely, patients can have up to 2 caregivers. 

Missouri law states that a person who has a medical marijuana card from another state will not be subject to arrest or other sanctions under Missouri law for possession of marijuana in quantities less than the limits for qualified Missouri patients.

This means, out-of-state patients may possess and use medical marijuana with their registered medical marijuana card.
